Transformational Connections has taken close to 75 people to Guatemala over the past few years to learn about ways to help people in the developing world, while respecting the native culture, ideas and minds. Through our work, we became a huge supporter of MesoAmerican Permaculture Institute (IMAP) which is a non-profit organization located in San Lucas Toliman, Guatemala. IMAP’s mission is to help the people of Guatemala develop the practical skills and awareness needed to ensure food sovereignty, community development and the preservation of biodiversity and ancestral knowledge in Guatemala. Transformational Connections works closely with IMAP to support their mission both in country, and at home. One way is by learning about food sovereignty from IMAP and helping to spread the sovereignty effort by build family and community gardens along-side Guatemalan families.
Through this fundraiser, we will support IMAP funding, increase awareness of IMAP methods and share the wonderful work IMAP is doing in Guatemala.
Come enjoy dinner and learn more about these two non-profits and the work they are doing together. To learn more about IMAP visit: http://imapermaculture.org. To learn more about Transformational Connections visit: www.TransformationalConnections.org
